Animalfish Alphabet

a fishy coloring book featuring some of the world's wonderful watery creatures

Maggie: ANIMALFISH ALPHABET was the perfect way to brings together my eye for the offbeat and passion for the out-of-doors. Living in California's Central Coast of California has inspired all my work and has given me the opportunity to create a series of environmentally-themed learning resources for the Watsonville Wetlands Watch as well as a bilingual plant guide to the area. I'm a 20 year resident of Santa Cruz and love raising my two children to appreciate the wonders of the ocean. I'm also a 2006 graduate of California State University-Monterey Bay, where I studied communications and environmental science. ANIMALFISH ALPHABET is the first publication from Aptos Multimedia, the business I created several years ago where I serve as researcher, copy editor, free-lance writer, and web site designer. I'm currently is in the middle of writing my first novel and am blogging at Life in A Skillet (

Sara: I have had a keen eye for the beauty in life since I can remember. Imitating and creating what I observe is a great passion of mine. Growing up in Santa Cruz with my beautiful twin sister and wonderful parents helped make me a curious and bold artist. I am a 2010 Graduate of Mount Madonna High School, and currently a freshman at the University of Oregon studying art, later to focus in product design. For fun I am on the equestrian team at the University and compete in the several events. Illustrating the Animalfish Alphabet book was a fun and amazing opportunity. It was my first childrens' book, and I hope to illustrate more.
